The Occupational Therapy Africa Regional Group (OTARG) is the official regional body of the World Federation of Occupational Therapists (WFOT).

Since its inception in 1996, OTARG has been a cornerstone in the development and promotion of occupational therapy in sub-Saharan Africa. From our first meeting in Durban to hosting biennial conferences across the continent, we have continually supported the growth of OT training programmes and membership with WFOT

Celebrating the 13th OTARG Congress
The 13th Occupational Therapy Africa Regional Group Congress successfully took place in Arusha, Tanzania, from 24 to 27 June 2025, following pre-congress workshops on 23 June.
Under the theme “Taking Stock: A Celebration of the Past, Present, and Future Practice of Occupational Therapy in Africa”, the congress connected occupational therapists, researchers, educators and students from across the continent.
