The OTARG Executive Committee

Munyaradzi Chimara
Mr. Munyaradzi Chimara is the President of OTARG and a lecturer at the University of Namibia. With a BSc (Hons) in Occupational Therapy from the University of Zimbabwe (2004), he is pursuing a PhD at Stellenbosch University. As President, he provides strategic leadership, fosters collaboration among African occupational therapy associations, and promotes a decolonized, contextually relevant profession.

Itumeleng Tsatsi-Mosala
Itumeleng Tsatsi-Mosala is an occupational therapist passionate about mental health and community reintegration. A lecturer at the University of Witwatersrand, she was recognized by Mail and Guardian (2018) and News 24 (2019) for her contributions to occupational therapy. As Vice President for Marketing & Fundraising, she promotes OTARG’s mission globally and drives fundraising to support African occupational therapists.

Nana Serwaa Akrofi
Nana Serwaa Akrofi, OTD, OTR/L, is a Ghanaian occupational therapist pursuing a PhD at New York University. Her clinical interests include pediatric care, autism, and occupational justice. As Vice President for Programmes, she works to advance OTARG’s initiatives, fostering excellence in occupational therapy training and promoting contextually relevant, decolonized practices across Africa.

Dr. Olindah Silaule
Dr. Olindah Silaule is a senior lecturer at the University of Cape Town, holding a Master’s and PhD in Occupational Therapy from the University of the Witwatersrand. Her work focuses on mental health, community-based rehabilitation, and caregiver support. As Treasurer, she aims to ensure financial transparency and support OTARG’s initiatives, including the 2025 Congress.

Winnie Wamaitha
Winnie Wamaitha is an Occupational Therapist and Hand Therapy practitioner based in Mombasa, Kenya, with a BSc in Occupational Therapy from The Presbyterian University of East Africa. With 11 years of experience, she specializes in musculoskeletal, neurological, and pediatric conditions, pioneering home-based therapy in underserved areas. As Secretary for OTARG, she supports organizational operations and advocates for inclusive, community-focused occupational therapy.

Dominique Jamie
Dominique Jamie is a South African representative for OTARG. Dominique graduated from the University of Cape Town in 2017 and completed her Community Service in Empangeni, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, in 2018. Having worked and lived in multiple provinces within South Africa, she has found herself passionate about critically viewing the role and practice of occupational therapy in the country and how to actively uphold Afrocentric ways of doing.

Zalalem Demeke
Zelalem Dessalegn Demeke (BScPT, MSc, OT) is an occupational therapist from Ethiopia with years of experience working with children with neurodevelopmental disabilities, particularly those with cerebral palsy. He’s the founder and director of the Grand Assistive Technology Center in Ethiopia. As Webmaster, Zelalem ensures OTARG’s website functionality and accessibility, making it inclusive and user-friendly.

Sudi Muli
Sudi Muli, a Tanzanian occupational therapist, graduated from Tumaini University KCM College in 2009. He founded Kyaro Assistive Tech and Milestones Children's Therapy Clinic, focusing on pediatric care and assistive technology. As Newsletter Editor, he aims to strengthen the voice of occupational therapy in Africa by highlighting research, innovation, and collaboration.
